Nominations open for Pride of Brent awards

Nominations are now open for the 2018 Pride of Brent Awards, the new name for the ‘Brent Community Champions’ award scheme.

Just like the Brent Community Champions scheme, the Pride of Brent Awards celebrate those selfless individuals, community groups and local businesses who contribute so much to the borough and who have gone the extra mile to make Brent a better place to live and work in 2018.

They come from all walks of life, from different backgrounds, ages and cultures. The positive impact of their work can be seen throughout life in Brent.

Leader of the Council, Cllr Muhammed Butt, said:

“Brent is a borough which puts community at the forefront, with thousands of residents taking part in local activities that contribute to making our borough such a great place to live. The Pride of Brent Awards are a fantastic opportunity to reward our residents, local groups and businesses whose contributions have helped to enrich our lives.

As we saw during last year’s Pride of Brent awards, many Brent residents go above and beyond to help others in need, giving up days, weeks or even years, and quite often overcoming their own personal difficulties to do so.

“I encourage everyone to nominate the community champions who have made such a vital contribution to making all our lives better.”

Nominations must be received by Wednesday 12 September 2018. The winners will be announced at a ceremony at Brent Civic Centre on Thursday 22 November 2018.
